The 6 mile (9.6 km) race, team of 6 dogs:

 

The start line is on the river Daaquam, one dog team departing every 2 minutes, the race is one-way through the well pisted down forest trails and are 5 to 6 feet wide (therefore you won’t pass any other dog teams), the race surface is flat without any other routes crossing its path.  The finish lane is not the same as the start lane.  The race is made up of 2 trials and the winners will be calculated on the addition of their times from both trials. Only dogs taking part in the first trial will be allowed to take part in the second trial:

  • The first trial will take place on Saturday January 12nd at 3 p.m. 
  • The second one will take place on Sunday January 13rd at 2 p.m.
  • Prizes will be awarded on Sunday January 13rd at 3 p.m.

 

 

The 12 miles (19,2 km) race, Open Pro Tour:

 

The start line in on the river Daaquam, one dog team departing every 2 minutes, the race is one-way through the well pisted down forest trails that are 5 to 6 feet wide (therefore you won’t pass any other dog teams), the race surface is flat without any other routes crossing its path.  The finish lane is not the same as the start lane.

The race is made up of 2 trials and the winners will be calculated on the addition of their times from both trials. Only dogs taking part in the first trial will be allowed to take part in the second trial:

  • The first trial will take place on Saturday January 12nd at 3 p.m. 
  • The second one will take place on Sunday January 13rd at 2 p.m.
  • Prizes will be awarded on Sunday January 13rd at 3 p.m.

 

The 3 X 18 miles (28,8 km) race, limited to 10 dogs dogs:

 

For the first trial, the start line is on the river Daaquam, one dog team departing every 2 minutes, and finish in the village of St-Camille-De-Lellis. The second and the third trials start in St-Camille and finish in St-Just-De-Bretenières. The race is one-way through the well pisted down forest trails that are 5 to 6 feet wide (therefore you won’t pass any other dog teams), the race surface is flat. The race is made up of 3 trials and the winners will be calculated on the addition of their times from all trials. Only dogs taking part in the first trial will be allowed to take part in the second trial. Those same dogs will be able to take part in the third trial. Consequently the dogs will be mark:

 

  • 1st trial Thursday January 10th 13h00. from Saint-Just-De-Bretenières to St-Camille-De-Lellis
  • 2nd trial Friday January 11th  8:30 a.m. from St-Camille-De-Lellis to Saint-Just-De-Bretenières
  • 3rd trial Saturday January 12nd  14:00 p.m. from St-Camille-De-Lellis to Saint-Just-De-Bretenières
  • Prizes awarded on Saturday January 12nd at 5;00 p.m.

For the first trial, the start line is on the river Daaquam, one dog team departing every 2 minutes, and finish in the village of Lac Etchemin. The second and the third trials start in Lac Etchemin and finish in St-Just-De-Bretenières. The race is one-way through the well pisted down forest trails that are 5 to 6 feet wide (therefore you won’t pass any other dog teams), the race surface is flat. The race is made up of 3 trials and the winners will be calculated on the addition of their times from all trials. Only dogs taking part in the first trial will be allowed to take part in the second trial. Those same dogs will be able to take part in the third trial. Consequently the dogs will be mark:

 

  • 1st trial Friday January 11th 12:00 p.m. from Saint-Just-De-Bretenières to Lac Etchemin
  • 2nd trial Saturday January 12nd 9:00 a.m. from Lac Etchemin to Saint-Just-De-Bretenières
  • 3rd trial Sunday January 13rd 9:00 a.m. from Lac Etchemin to Saint-Just-De-Bretenières
  • Prizes awarded on Sunday January 13rd at 4;00 p.m.

 

 

N.B.: The race schedules may differ slightly from the above due to television and radio coverage of the events. The race schedules would allow every runner to be able to take part in many races. Schedules could change if necessary. In case of a trial’s cancellation due to the elements, the purses will be awarded judging by the results of the performed steps.

Getting here from the USA: From Augusta in Maine (3h30min); From Augusta to Jackman take the 201. At St-Georges (Quebec) take the 204 East, at St-Just-de-Bretenieres turn right after the church and follow the blue "Pourvoirie Daaquam" road signs.
