bienvenue cyclistes

La Maison Dufresne is a 120 years old ancestral residence located in Old Beauport on one of the first New France roads between Montmorency Falls and Old Québec (5 minutes), 10 minutes from Ile D'Orléans (island of Félix Leclerc) and 30 minutes from Mont Ste-Anne. On about 30 kilometers, the Avenue Royale displays a concentration of ancestral houses from the 17th and 18th century. A beautiful bicycle ride to do !

Why La Maison Dufresne ?

From December 1895 to April 1998, the house was the property of the Dufresne family. Adrien Dufresne, architect, was one of the house last occupant and the designer of the Basilique Notre-Dame-du-Cap in Cap-de-la-Madeleine also of the Sainte-Thérèse de Lisieux church near Beauport. Mister Dufresne was a Dom Bellot's disciple, a Benedictine architect, who worked for the Montréal Saint-Joseph Oratory.

How to come and see us ?

By taking highway 40, from Montréal towards Ste-Anne de Beaupré and from the Côte-Nord towards Montréal take the exit La Seigneuriale heading south and right on Avenue Royale (505). From Old Québec, highway Dufferin (440 East) exit François-de-Laval, turn right on Avenue Royale (505).

By bus, the #800 entirely goes through Ste-Foy to Beauport via the Carré D'Youville in Old Québec. There is a bus stop (Duchesnay) only a step away from our house.
