 HISTORY

afficheRich in history, the village of L'Islet-sur-Mer, washed by the river, is renown for its captains, sailors, legends, seigneuries, and its ancestral homes well taken care of, some even dating from the French Régime.

Just a few steps away from the Inn is the Bernier maritime M++useum, a  major attraction which welcomes more than forty thousand visitors annually.

The first church was erected in the year 1700. The church, that one can visit today, is classified as an historical landmark (1768).

The Inn La Marguerite, located in the center of the village, is part of the Quebecers' heritage. The inn is a five dormer window Manor with arched gutter overhangs (Kamouraska roof, built in 1754).

At dusk, you will have the pleasure to watch our exceptionally beautiful sunsets and in the fall, the surrounding landscape offers you a magnificent show of colors. The crossing of the white geese is a "must-see" and in April, those big migratory birds pass by again on their way back to the frozen North.
