Established in 1973, the museum is devoted to the navigation of yesteryear on the St-Lawrence River.
Because the river remained the best way of communication, the island's inhabitants rapidly became navigators. During the summer, they would ensure transportation of merchandise between the villages along the river and the cities of Montreal, Quebec and Trois-Rivières.
Your host, Captain Eloï Perron, is one of the last witnesses of this bygone era.
This museum is filled with memories of this era for futur generations. Upon discovering these collector's items, you will relive a period of Quebec's history, marked by the restraints of nature at its grandest, but also hard and demanding for those who lived in it.
