Grands Jardins Park

Located close to Quebec's major urban centers, this territory of 310 km2 is defined as an islet of the Great Quebecois North in Charlevoix. A nordic vegetation, the taiga is composed primarily of black spruce and lichen, and is home to a population of caribous. These animals, after disappearing at the beginning of the century, were reintroduced at the end of the 60's.

To Ontarian and American tourists, owners of private clubs in this region at the beginning of the century, evoked the size of the spruce and the blanket of lichen to the splendor of English gardens; hence the name "Grands Jardins" or great gardens.

As a Provincial park, this territory is now accessible all year round. Lodging on camp grounds or in cottages will let you take full advantage of the site and practice the activities offered.
