At some 10 km from Saint-Simeon, the road edges the foot of a great rock wall where a micro-climate is created by the rock barrier, a piling of crumbled blocks of stone. A narrow stretch of land is thus influenced by the micro-climate created, allowing for the growth of specific local vegetation.

The center will let you discover drops of 200 meters or more in places, observation points, an interpretation path and information regarding glacier movement as well as what shaped and softened the slopes and summits of the Charlevoix mountains. The Centre Éco-forestier "Les Palissades" offers visit of a forest camp, trails, hiking and snowshoeing.
